FULL-TIME MATH TEACHER WANTED
Job Description: The School District of Wabeno Area has a full-time mathematics teaching position available for a dynamic teacher beginning in the 2014-2015 school year. The successful candidate will become an important member of an outstanding collaborative team working towards excellence in education.
Qualifications: Preferred candidates will possess a thorough knowledge of mathematics and demonstrate a passion to educate all students. The candidates will also have experience with professional learning communities, technology, common core, PBIS, 21st century skills, Educator Effectiveness, and RtI including interventions and data analysis. An innovative approach with a focus on continuous improvement is necessary. The ability to engage students and form positive relationships is vital to success. Collaboration with staff, students, and community members to improve learning is imperative.
Requirements: Candidates must have appropriate DPI license (400-Mathematics).
Additional Information: Wabeno Junior/ Senior High serves roughly 200 students grades 7-12. Wabeno Area School District is very progressive and strives to lead the way in education by meeting the needs of each child in innovative ways.

Information to be shared about the upcoming referendum and other topics
On Monday, March 17 at 6:30 pm in the elementary gym, information will be shared about personalized learning, technology updates, and the upcoming referendum.
We are developing a personalized learning system to provide opportunities to maximize the potential of all students based on their needs, abilities, and preferences. We are moving to a 1:1 initiative to get a computing device into the hands of each student.
The referendum will be on the April 1, 2014 ballot. Approval of the referendum would provide the school district with an additional $750,000 per year for 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17. Approval of the referendum would translate into a mill rate of approximately $6.29 per thousand in 2014-15, $6.11 in 2015-16 and $5.92 in 2016-17. The mill rate for 2013-14 is $5.62.

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
April 11-12, 2014
The Wabeno Youth Basketball Association will be having a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on April 11-12, 2014 at the Wabeno High School. Teams will be guaranteed 3 games. Divisions: Boys and Girls (3-4 5-6 7-8 9-10 Open)
Pre- Registration/Entry Fee: $50.00 received by April 5th

Teams: Each team may have 4 players with a designated captain. A fifth may not be substituted at any other time. Teams may also have a coach. The oldest player on the team will determine which division you will be placed in.
Spectators Daily Admission: $3:00 for adults and $2:00 for children over the age of 8. Children under 8 will be allowed in free.
Game Times: Teams will be notified of their first game. Teams should arrive 30 minutes before the first game to register and 20 minutes for each game after that.
Awards: Each division will receive 4 individual 1st and 2nd place medals.
